Sharukh Khan to perform at Indian premier league cricket

Keen to repay loyal fans of the Kolkata Knight Riders with some Bollywood-style entertainment, Shahrukh Khan has decided to perform on the evening of Ponchisey Boisakh, just before the beleaguered Knight Riders take on the Royal Challengers in their third match on home turf.

Shahrukh Khan has asked officials of his company, Red Chillies Entertainment, to arrange for a makeshift 30ftx20ft stage at an appropriate spot for him and his troupe to perform for 15-20 minutes before the match starts at 8pm

Sources at Red Chillies, a firm floated by the star, said Shahrukh Khan was overwhelmed by the support his team was receiving in Kolkata though they had suffered four defeats in a row. “So this performance is to thank the KKR supporters in Bollywood style,” said a source.

“Actors Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have given their verbal consent to be a part of the show. Besides, famous WWE wrestler Khali may also make a brief appearance at the show,” sources said

However there was some opposition. Sports minister Subhash Chakraborty criticized the idea of holding such a show before the match. “May 8 is Rabindra Jayanti and such an event (Shahrukh Khan’s show) will not be in tune with it.”
